Astrid Dahl

“Each painting is a connection of one soul to another, it communicates an unspoken language as only the heart understands”

As a Senior Australian artist,  Astrid Dahl  is best known for her landscapes of the outback and desert country in Western Australia.

She also has gathered inspirations during many camping trips into the desert and the WA and Eastern Coast line. However, Astrid also responds to many other landscapes that she has encountered in her travels and is constantly being  inspired by trees, rocks, water-ways and hidden paths. Having lived in Asia for several years, (and being part Thai) she has imbued her Asian sensibilities into the design and colour sense of her work.

Astrid’s multitude of techniques and materials include, texture gel, sand, oxides, inks including acrylics and oil paint. Each painting is an individual concept which calls for a variety of approaches but there is always a thread of recognition that weaves its way through her unique way of interpretation. Her expressive landscapes are being avidly collected on-line and in physical art gallery exhibitions.

She is regarded as a prominent figure in the world of Contemporary landscapes and has an international presence, with paintings that have been sold and transported all over the world. This includes the USA, France, Wales, the UK, Canada, Shanghai, South Africa, Norway, The Netherlands, Singapore, Indonesia, China, as well as Australia. She has a medal from the Florence Biennale, several art competition finalist and winner awards in Australia.
